About Becki's Cottage & Soda Fountain
 |
Home Town Charm
Housed in a local landmark best known as the old Rice Pharmacy building in downtown Normangee, our fountain is an orginial from the 1940's. Much of our decor and furniture is original, and the "wallpaper" and borders are from vintage magazines. We've maintained the look and feel of the past, while offering the lastest in menu trends and gift items. |

As a member of the Normangee Area Chamber of Commerce, we've been in business since 1996. We started as a gift shop, but when we bought the town's only available building in 2000 - the old Rice Pharmacy - we re-opened the soda fountain and started a lunch counter. Our menu started small, with cold sandwhiches, soups, salads, and baked potatoes. We gradually added more items, and in 2004, added the grill and pizza oven. Many people told us we couldn't sell burgers without fries, or have a successful restaurant in Texas without chicken fried steak, but our motto of "always fresh and never fried" has kept our menu - and our patronage- growing strong! Our committment to quality merchandise at a reasonable price, along with fresh displays and unique items you don't find just everywhere, keeps our gift shop thriving, even in this difficult economy. |

We love Give-A-Ways! At last year's Christmas Open House, Teresa Taylor, left, won the Gift Basket, co-sponsored by Normangee Flower and Gifts. Edna Brown, right, won our Open House drawing for a gorgeous print. |
